Who we are

Magic Lantern, a non-profit making educational charity, was established in 1994 with grants from Marks and Spencer. We are currently funded by school contributions and by charitable donations.

Sessions last one hour (45 mins recommended for Reception and Year 1). They cost £40. Six are offered for the price of five. In some London boroughs which are supported by ancient charities, presentations are offered free.

Presenters have been chosen for their communication skills and their ability to listen and respond.

We are a team of professional people - art historians, teachers, actresses, a barrister, a journalist and an international film publicist.

The team has been trained in both content and use of paintings by the senior tutor, Diana Schomberg FRSA, BA History of Art, London University.

Magic Lantern is unique:

We are the only organisation in the UK offering this kind of educational service.

  Every presentation is evaluated.
