Magic Lantern wins a JM Barrie Award!

    November 9, 2019

On Thursday 7 November 2019, Magic Lantern’s director, Matthew Sanders, and founder, Diana Schomberg, accepted a JM Barrie Members’ Award from Action for Children Arts in the Delfont Room of the Prince of Wales Theatre in London. Their patron, children’s author and illustrator James Mayhew made a beautiful speech in their honour before presenting them with the award.

We are proud and thrilled to be recognised by such an important organisation as Action for Children’s Arts but also honoured to be sharing the afternoon with incredible fellow award winners as Sir Philip Pullman, Breathe Arts, Leeds Lieder and Amanda Glover.

    A Happy Customer!

    June 22, 2017

A parent has taken the time to let us know how inspired his child was after attending a recent Magic Lantern session. Makes it all worth it!

    Dear Magic Lantern,

I’m just writing a quick and inadequate note of thanks for the recent work you did at Walnut Tree Walk primary school in SE11 where my son is a pupil in Year 3.

He has being talking non stop about Turner (or Mr Turner and his artistic license as he calls him) ever since and is making me take him to the National Gallery to see his works “in person” to check the veracity of your teaching.

He’s a lucky lad to have experienced your teaching and now he’s full of enthusiasm for the subject.

    Thank you again.
A Year 3 parent, Walnut Tree Walk Primary School, SE11
